Post from Homestead Plc-- Our Family Blog

Ok, I don't usually post the textual stuff, but tonight I needed to. A couple of items for any of you who read/ view the blog.

First, I hope you don't judge me as a person by my captions. I'm usually posting late and in a hurry and sometimes I just don't have the energy to come up with that perfect caption. So in case you've wondered what kind of a nit-wit posts captions like these-- that's my excuse.

Second, in the tradition of this blog I need to report on a real red-letter evening for the big brother of the family. He's in a stage right now. I think Grammy has it about right when she says that a little knowledge (read, know-how) is a dangerous thing. Tonight the young gentleman was zealously steering a course from one disaster into the next catastrophy. Even with a Grandma, an Aunt, an Uncle, a Big Sister and his father around he managed to perpetrate two of the best of his career, and for some reason he seemed innocent. The first happened while Inge and I were having a little discussion in the other room. Shortly before taking Inge in the room for a discussion, I started brewing a cup of tea for Claire on the counter. Yes, you guessed it, Lewis pulled a scalding hot cup of tea off the counter and onto himself. Some quick aloe-vera gel and Lavender oil (not sure we even used the Lavender) put things right, so much so that in an hour or so he perpetrated his last major disaster of the day. Some things cannot be spoken of in public-- and this is one of them. All I'll say is that we went to the pool for a swim and jumped out suddenly when I was pretty sure of something... one of those times you desperately wish you were wrong. After this episode-- ending in a quick shower at the Grammy's room (with much screaming). The spirits were so little abated that he actually almost managed to climb in the water again with his clothes on....

The cry goes round: "Watch him like a hawk!"

Hello Pete my boy, Rather glad I was not in the hot tub or pool simultaneously with Lewis. There was probably nothing there at all, but there are some things where it is the thought that counts (at least for something). I find this out when talking about certain autopsy results or other work related events at the dinner table. Sure hope you are enjoying your mother and sister and little brother. From your blog site, it looks like it, and from your mother it sounds like you are putting her to good use. Remember to make her rest from time to time. She is probably anemic again. I'm at the hospital during church time waiting for a frozen section. They said for me to be here at 9:40 and it is now 10:04. Think I'll go see "wassup." Love you all, you busy little (and getting bigger) family. Love from, Dad

I just read this comment. Sorry no reply sooner. Thanks so much for sending Mom, Douglas, and Abby. They were a great help. I wish I had known to make momma rest. I think she made it through ok-- I hope. Love you too!

Peter
